Ghanaian defender Kwadwo Asamoah has undergone keyhole surgery that will sideline him for up to four months, his club Juventus confirmed Tuesday.
A statement from the Serie A giants said: "While his team-mates were out training, Kwadwo Asamoah was in Barcelona to undergo arthroscopic surgery designed to fix torn cartilage in his left knee."
It added: "The Ghanaian is expected to return to competitive action within three to four months."
Juve will also be without on-loan Verona midfielder Romulo, who is set to undergo surgery in Brazil on a groin injury.
Juventus, who hold a three-point lead over Roma, are away to Fiorentina on Friday.
