Germany striker Mario Gomez is poised to play his first international for more than a year against France on Friday, while teenager Leroy Sane is set to make his debut.

The world champions play the first of two friendlies in four days at the Stade de France before hosting the Netherlands in Hanover next Tuesday with the Dutch rebuilding under new coach Danny Blind after missing out on qualifying for Euro 2016.

Sane, 19, a right winger or striker, is poised to make his first appearance for his country despite making just 26 Bundesliga appearances for Schalke, while 30-year-old striker Gomez is poised for a recall.

Gomez has won 60 caps, but missed the 2014 World Cup triumph with injury and has made just three appearances for Germany since playing all five games at Euro 2012, when Joachim Loew's side lost to Italy in the semi-finals.

"I'm on the right path after a few difficult years and I was pleased when the national trainer (Loew) called me up," said Gomez, who is on loan at Besiktas in Istanbul from Fiorentina.

"France are a very, very strong team with big ambitions for the European Championship next year.

"The Dutch are undergoing major changes, we'll have to see what to expect from them."

The team that starts the game is likely to be the strongest available to Loew, however, with goalkeeping coach Andreas Koepke confirming on Wednesday that Bayern Munich's Manuel Neuer will line up between the posts.

The games will be Loew's last chance to look at his squad before Germany play England and Italy at home in friendlies next March.

The Germans may have finished first in their qualifying group for Euro 2016, but lacked consistency throughout the campaign.

They have won their last two matches against the French, a Mats Hummels header sealing a 1-0 victory in the 2014 World Cup quarter-finals after a 2-1 success at the Stade de France in a friendly in February 2013.

The final of Euro 2016 will be held at the Stade de France on July 10 and forward Thomas Mueller said the Germans are looking forward to running out at the venue.

"I'm looking forward to playing a big opponent in a super stadium in front of a great crowd," said Mueller, who scored against France in the 2013 triumph.

"I've already played there and it was a great game.

"We want to have fun and soak up the atmosphere, but it won't have much to do with the European Championship. It's still too far away to think about that."
