Huddersfield's promotion bid dented in Millwall defeat

Huddersfield's bid for automatic promotion to the Premier League suffered a setback as Millwall's 2-0 win handed the Championship side their first loss since November.

Benik Afobe produced a pair of superb strikes for Gary Rowett's side, who maintained their impressive run to keep in touch with the race for a play-off spot.

Millwall are within two points of the top six after extending their unbeaten streak to eight games and making it five matches without conceding in the process.

They ended Huddersfield's run of 17 league games without defeat and left them still three points behind second-placed Bournemouth, having played three games more.

Luton moved into the play-off places with a 4-0 thrashing of Preston at Kenilworth Road.

It was Luton's seventh victory in their last 10 league games and leaves them six points off Bournemouth.

Nottingham Forest staged a superb second-half comeback to beat QPR 3-1 at the City Ground.

QPR led through Andre Gray but goals from Djed Spence, Ryan Yates and Brennan Johnson saw Forest move up to eighth and QPR drop down to sixth.

Sheffield United drew 0-0 at Blackpool, while Hull damaged Coventry's play-off bid with a 2-0 victory.

Cardiff fought back to beat Stoke 2-1, while Swansea won 3-2 at bottom of the table Peterborough.

Michael Obafemi gave Swansea the lead right on half-time.

Sammie Szmodics and Jack Marriott put Posh ahead before Obafemi levelled with a crisp volley.

Joel Piroe steered home his 17th goal of the season to win it for Swansea in stoppage-time.
