Cheikhou Kouyate rescued West Ham as the Senegal midfielder's stoppage-time equaliser secured a dramatic 2-2 draw against Norwich on Saturday.

Kouyate's third goal of the season was perfectly timed to spare West Ham from losing at home to Norwich for the first time in 26 years.

Robbie Brady had given Norwich an early lead before Diafra Sakho equalised and Nathan Redmond restored the visitors' advantage.

This was a reality check for West Ham after last weekend's 2-1 win at Manchester City, a shock success that followed hot on the heels of equally impressive away wins at Arsenal and Liverpool earlier this season.

While Slaven Bilic's team have thrived on their travels, they have now won just one of their four Premier League matches at Upton Park.

Norwich took the lead in the ninth minute when Hammers midfielder Mark Noble tried a risky sideways pass inside his own half.

Republic of Ireland winger Brady intercepted the loose ball and evaded James Tomkins' sliding tackle before slotting home a fine low finish.

It was Brady's first league goal in two years since he scored for Hull, ironically also against West Ham.

West Ham equalised against the run of play in the 33rd minute as Senegal striker Sakho converted Dimitri Payet's pass for his third league goal of the season.

Sakho almost struck again before half-time when he hooked over after Norwich goalkeeper John Ruddy failed to claim a cross.

There was another glorious opportunity for Sakho to give West Ham the lead when he rose to meet a Victor Moses cross, but his header was straight at Ruddy, who also produced an excellent save to deny Payet soon after.

Adrian matched Ruddy's heroics when the West Ham keeper flung himself in the way of Cameron Jerome's close-range shot, keeping out the stinging strike with his face.

Redmond looked to have won it for Norwich with seven minutes left when he exchanged passes with Brady, surged into the area and smashed a low strike past Adrian.

But, three minutes into stoppage-time, West Ham snatched a point thanks to a blunder from Ruddy, whose poor punch hit Andy Carroll and fell for Kouyate to gleefully drive home from six yards.
