Everton defender Phil Jagielka has been ruled out of England's friendly international against Denmark at Wembley next week with a hamstring injury.

"Phil has felt his hamstring over the last couple of days and will be missing at the weekend and for England," Everton manager Roberto Martinez said Thursday.

"I don't think it will be a long-term injury, but Phil will be missing for a couple of weeks."

England manager Roy Hodgson was due to name his squad for Wednesday's match later Thursday.

The first match Jagielka will miss is Everton's home Premier League fixture against West Ham at Goodison Park on Saturday.
