Rangers boss Philippe Clement suffered his first home defeat in charge as Motherwell's shock 2-1 victory at Ibrox on Saturday provided a twist in the Scottish Premiership title race.

Clement's men could have gone five points clear of Celtic at the top of the table with victory, but their 11-game winning run came to an end.

Theo Bair fired Motherwell into an early lead and the Steelmen held on until James Tavernier levelled from the penalty spot on the hour mark.

The stage seemed set for Rangers to go on and claim another three points, but Dan Casey's header 15 minutes from time handed Motherwell their first win at Ibrox in nine years.

Celtic can now reclaim top spot when they travel to Hearts on Sunday.

Clement had lost just once in his first 28 matches since taking charge of Rangers in October.

"Now you get to know players better," said Clement.

"Everything has been positive but to be a really good team you have to stand up after a setback."

FIFA president Gianni Infantino was in attendance to see a stunning St Mirren fightback from 1-0 down deep into stoppage time to beat Aberdeen 2-1.

Neil Warnock is still to win a league game as Dons boss despite getting off to a flying start thanks to Connor Barron's first-minute opener.
