Football: Cardiff insist Mackay will have final say

Cardiff manager Malky Mackay will have the last word over the club's transfer dealings, the Premier League club announced Tuesday.
Mackay's position at the Welsh capital club was called into question last week when his longstanding assistant Iain Moody left Cardiff.
They also announced that Alisher Apsalyamov, a 23-year-old from Kazakhstan, reported to be a friend of the son of Cardiff's Malaysian owner Vincent Tan, and with no known significant previous experience in football, had replaced Moody in an acting capacity.
But, following a board meeting on Monday, Cardiff said Mackay will have the final say over transfers following the creation of four new committees.
They include a "nomination and corporate governance" committee, which will be headed by chairman Mehmet Dalman.
According to a Cardiff statement, the main responsibility of the committee will be "to support the manager, Malky Mackay, on all player purchases and sales.
"All transfer dealings will be conducted subject to the manager's final approval."
Tan took over Cardiff in 2010 and helped finance their promotion to the Premier League last season as the club returned to English football's top flight for the first time in more than 50 years.
But he also angered many Cardiff supporters by insisting the club change from its traditional blue kit to his 'lucky' colour of red.
Cardiff are currently 14th in the Premier League, a point in front of south Wales rivals Swansea.
