Dzyuba, Azmoun steet Zenit closer to Russian title

Second-half goals from Artem Dzyuba and Sardar Azmoun gave leaders Zenit St Petersburg a 2-0 win over struggling Dynamo Moscow on Wednesday as they closed in on a fifth Russian Premier League title.

Zenit are eight points clear of second-placed Lokomotiv Moscow, who edged Rostov 2-1.

CSKA Moscow, meanwhile, beat cash-strapped Anzhi Makhachkala 2-0 courtesy of goals from Slovenian Jaka Bijol and Iceland star Arnor Sigurdsson to jump into third spot, two points further back.

Zenit had to wait until the 60th minute to take the lead when Dzyuba headed the ball home off a Yury Zhirkov left-wing cross.

Iranian international forward Azmoun added the second just six minues later.

Lokomotiv were ahead after just five minutes when Alexei Miranchuk found an unmarked Jefferson Farfan after a mazy run and the Peruvian hammered the ball in from 15 yards.

Rostov levelled in the 39th minute thanks to a penalty from Alexei Ionov after Alexander Zuev had been fouled in the box.

Farfan netted the winner, however, with a header with seven minutes to go.
