Real's Khedira released from hospital after concussion

Real Madrid's German midfielder Sami Khedira was released from hospital on Wednesday after spending the night under observation with concussion, his club confirmed.

"Following neurological exams performed on Sami Khedira today in the Sanitas La Moraleja hospital, the player has been discharged," read a statement on the club website.

Khedira suffered concussion during the Spanish giants' 5-0 Copa del Rey win over Cornella.

The 27-year-old German international collided with Cornella midfielder David Garcia shortly after half-time at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium and, after playing on for a few minutes, he was replaced by Jese.

Holders Madrid's win over the third-tier side saw them advance 9-1 on aggregate and earned them the first ticket to the last 16 of a competition they are seeking to win for the 20th time.
