Melbourne Victory Thursday signed Macedonian international defender Daniel Georgievski on a one-year-deal ahead of next month's A-League start.

The Australian-born right-back has played in UEFA Champions League group matches and made 20 international appearances for Macedonia.

Georgievski, 26, joins Victory after two years with Romania's Steaua Bucharest. He was part of their UEFA Champions League campaign last season, playing in five of the six group games.

"I certainly have followed the progress of the A-League closely over the past few years and when the opportunity arose to return to Australia and play at the biggest club in the league, I was very interested in heading to Melbourne," he said.
