Spartak Moscow announced on Monday former Benfica coach Rui Vitoria will take over as coach on a two-year deal.

Vitoria, 51, who won a pair of league titles in four years in Portugal, replaces Domenico Todesco after leaving Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia in December.

Spartak finished second in the league behind Zenit St Petersburg and will feature in the Champions League's third qualifying round next season.

Vitoria's new outfit won the last of their record 22 Russian league titles in 2017.
