Celtic's perfect home record ended by Motherwell

Celtic dropped league points at home for the first time this season as Kevin van Veen's strike handed Motherwell a 1-1 draw on Saturday.

The Hoops still look destined to retain their Scottish Premiership title as they opened up a 13-point lead over Rangers, who are in action away to Aberdeen on Sunday.

But Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou was disappointed by his side's lack of composure after Van Veen's 24th goal of the season cancelled out Callum McGregor's first half opener.

"We conceded a really poor goal and that gives them something to hold on to," said Postecoglou.

"We had chances to go on and win it but there was desperation around our play. We lacked that composure in the box.

"We need to lick our wounds, review it and move on.

"There are going to be times when you stumble, the important thing is to get back up and go again."

Elsewhere, Hibernian and St. Mirren secured places in the top six ahead of the end-of-season split despite both failing to win.

Hibs were held 1-1 at St. Johnstone after having James Jeggo controversially sent off, while St. Mirren were beaten 2-0 by relegation-threatened Kilmarnock.

But Livingston's 2-0 defeat at Dundee United meant they failed to climb into the top six.

Victories for United and Killie pulled them both four points clear of Ross County at the bottom after they were thrashed 6-1 by Hearts.

Lawrence Shankland scored a hat-trick as Hearts' first win in seven games cut the gap on Aberdeen in third to two points.
