Rangers sweep aside Ross County to move top

Antonio Colak scored twice as Rangers' beat Ross County 4-0 on Saturday to climb to the top of the Scottish Premiership, days after qualifying for the Champions League group stage.

Colak netted the winner away to PSV Eindhoven in midweek as Rangers returned to Europe's top table for the first time since 2010 -- two years before mounting debts forced them into liquidation.

Midfielder John Lundstram opened the scoring in the 24th minute at Ibrox on Saturday with a deflected 25-yard drive before in-form Croatia forward Colak doubled the lead on 39 minutes.

Colak hit his seventh goal in seven games as he added a third for Rangers before the hour. Substitute Steven Davis wrapped up a comprehensive win 10 minutes from time.

"The team is coming nicely together the way we're playing," Rangers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst told BBC Scotland.

"I think throughout the whole game our attacking performance was good with creating a lot of chances."

Rangers moved one point above Glasgow rivals Celtic, who have also qualified for this season's Champions League. The reigning Scottish champions visit Dundee United on Sunday.

North Macedonia international Bojan Miovski bagged a brace as Aberdeen thrashed Livingston 5-0.

Miovski broke the deadlock from the penalty spot late in the first half. Ross McCrorie added a second on 58 minutes before Vicente Besuijen made it 3-0 with another spot-kick.

Miovski's second goal increased the advantage. Ryan Duncan came off the bench to complete the rout.

St Mirren are level on nine points with Aberdeen, four behind Rangers, following a 1-0 victory at home to Hibs courtesy of Keanu Baccus' early goal.

Kilmarnock recovered from a goal down to beat Motherwell 2-1 and pick up their first win of the season.

Kevin van Veen gave the visitors the lead in the first half, but Kilmarnock hit back with goals from Daniel Armstrong and Ash Taylor.
