Cardiff's Wilson haunts old club Bournemouth

Cardiff's Harry Wilson frustrated his former club Bournemouth as the on-loan Liverpool winger rescued a 1-1 draw in Wednesday's Championship clash.

Wilson spent last season on loan with Bournemouth but returned to Liverpool after failing to help the Cherries avoid relegation from the Premier League.

His reunion with Bournemouth started badly when Dominic Solanke turned in Jack Stacey's low cross in the 35th minute to put the visitors ahead in south Wales.

But Wilson equalised with a composed finish just after the hour mark.

Junior Stanislas rattled the crossbar with a free-kick and Solanke headed a good chance wide as Bournemouth had to settle for a point.

Watford climbed above Bournemouth into third with a 3-1 win over Blackburn at Vicarage Road.

The Hornets raced into a 2-0 lead through Joao Pedro and Tom Cleverley.

Ben Brereton halved the deficit but an own goal from Darragh Lenihan restored Watford's two-goal advantage, and Ben Foster saved a late penalty from Blackburn's Adam Armstrong.

Ivan Toney's brace took him to seven goals in just four appearances as Brentford won 2-1 at Sheffield Wednesday.

Toney, a close-season signing from Peterborough, struck either side of Callum Paterson's goal.

Barnsley's wait for a first win this season goes on after they were held 2-2 by 10-man Stoke.

The Tykes led twice through Elliot Simoes and Dominik Frieser, but twice Stoke hit back with goals from Tyrese Campbell and Tommy Smith.

Stoke's Nathan Collins saw red on the hour for a foul on Frieser.

A penalty apiece for Daniel Johnson and Scott Sinclair gave Preston a 2-0 win at QPR.
